Mike Azzie’s multiple Gr1 winning Argentinian import Hat Puntano will defend his title in the R1 000 000 Peermont Emperors Palace Gr2 Charity Mile to be run at Turffontein on Saturday 3 November.
— Sporting Post

The 2017 winner carries joint topweight for the big race with the gallant Gr1 winner Coral Fever who will be ready to run a big race after a recent pipe opener.

The Charity Mile differs from other events in that every horse will run for a charity while each charity selected will be represented by a celebrity. The cash will be divided among the charities based on their horses’ finishing positions. No charity will go home empty handed.

The barrier draws will be announced at a function at Emperors Palace on Wednesday 24 October.

The celebrities and charities will also be announced at that point, as well as which horses they have drawn.
