Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum of Dubai and Mike de Kock sample rare honey during a visit to the Sheikh’s stable complex near Al Awir, outside of Dubai, on Wednesday. The honey is especially flown in for the Sheikh from Oman and Pakistan, not only for personal consumption, but also as a mix with oats for the Sheikh’s young and recovering horses. This honey would cost about 700DH for a small jar and indeed has a unique taste. The Sheikh’s Inca Noble, recovering from injury, almost jumped over her stable door when her handler arrived with a bucket filled with the oats-and-honey mix. Sheikh Mohammed has just erected 9 new stables on his premises.
