Lot 136 Rocky Affair Colt Mullins Bay ex Rock Anthem
Mike de Kock has always sworn by Mullins Bay, and this colt is a good reason to believe he is right. He is a nice big, scopey individual, with a good flowing stride like his father, and he has speed to go with it.
Lot 7 Waka Waka Colt Solskjaer ex Bindella
This is the year of the Solskjaers. We’ve had a couple of encouraging performances of late, not the least of which from Ice Axe, and the half-sister to Salutation, Final Score (ex Tribute by Solskjaer) who flew in from last for an excellent second and looks like a worthy candidate for Sean Tarry in the R2 million Emperors Palace Ready To Run Cup. This colt is a lovely, scopey individual, as you’d expect from his pedigree, and he has a nice easy action on him.
Lot 47 George The Third Colt Royal Academy ex Fantastrick
Typical Royal Academy, he stands over a lot of ground and has a nice easy walk on him. We got going late with him, but his first piece of work on Saturday caught the eye.
Lot 161 The Disciple Colt Muhtafal ex The Convent
Half brother to the electrically fast Maji Moto, this very late December foal works with great purpose, and is typical of the better Muhtafals we’ve been associated with. Show us a man who doesn’t enjoy his gallop.
Lot 138 Bronze Star Colt Stronghold ex Rose North
This fellow had an interrupted preparation, but he’s a sharp, enthusiastic sort, and gave us a good piece of work in his trial. He will keep on improving, and with his pedigree, he should have his admirers on the day. Two European Group One winners from this family this year, including the English Oaks winner, Dancing Rain, and the Moyglare Stud Stakes heroine, Maybe.
