Witchcraft - Oaks (Group 3)

Trainer Sean Tarry took an emphatic victory in the Track & Ball Oaks Sunday at Scottsville with Summerhill-bred Witchcraft who led from start to finish. When they turned for home, the Summerhill Ready to Run graduate kicked well and the only runner with had a chance of catching her was Flying Ice on the inside. However, Witchcraft kicked again and went on to win by 1.50 lengths under jockey S’manga Khumalo from Flying Ice with Deputy Ryder another 0.50-lengths back in third.

“Mr Tarry left everything to me,” said Khumalo. “I know this filly. She just popped out the stalls and knew what she had to do. When I asked her to run she just picked up and won quite comfortably.”
