Final Score was running for the last time in the Scuderia Effevi silks and will leave Stefano Botti’s yard this week, following her purchase by Katsumi Yoshida. He had already bought Final Score’s older half-sister Cherry Collect (Oratorio), the winner of the 2012 Italian Oaks. The other half-sister, Charity Line (Manduro), has been purchased by Shadai Farm.

The three-year-old Final Score (Dylan Thomas) wrote a piece of history when becoming the second filly produced by Holy Moon (Hernando) to land the Gr.2 Italian Oaks - Gr.1 Premio Lydia Tesio double, and capped a fantastic season for Scuderia Effevi, trainer Stefano Botti and jockey Fabio Branca

They had already won the Gr.2 Italian Derby and Gr.1 Premio Del Jockey Club with Dylan Mouth (Dylan Thomas), the Italian Oaks with Final Score and the Gr.2 Gran Criterium with the promising two-year-old Hero Look (Lope De Vega).

Final Score, a bit fractious entering the stalls, set a steady pace and increased the tempo over the last 600m when she was challenged by Vague Nouvelle (Mastercraftsman), while the German raider Calyxa (Pivotal) and the French-trained Mayhem (Whipper) moved outside. The major danger came from the inside when Andrea Atzeni found a gap with another German challenger, Lacy (Authorized), who got a slim lead 30m from home. Final Score fought back bravely and prevailed by a nose, with Calyxa third just ahead of Mayhem. The stewards called an enquiry but cleared the winner, despite her giving a slight bump to Vague Nouvelle, who finished sixth.
