Cape Blanco captured five Gr.1 contests in total, including the Irish Derby, Irish Champion Stakes, Man O’War Stakes, Arlington Million and the Turf Classic Invitational Stakes.

First crop yearling sire, Cape Blanco, a resident of Ashford Stud, Kentucky since his retirement to stud in 2012 will stand the 2015 breeding season in Hokkaido, Japan, following his Southern Hemisphere duties at Cambridge Stud in New Zealand, it was announced by the Japan Bloodhorse Breeders' Association.

The son of Galileo raced the early part of his career for Derrick Smith, Mrs John Magnier and Michael Tabor, before being joined in the partnership by Mrs Fitri Hay in 2011. He captured five Gr.1 contests in total, including the Irish Derby, Irish Champion Stakes, Man O'War Stakes, Arlington Million and the Turf Classic Invitational Stakes.
