GRAIL MAIDEN (BY GALILEO)

Congratulations to trainer Joey Ramsden and assistant Peter Muskutt on Grail Maiden’s impressive win at Clairwood on Wednesday, on her first career start. Mick Goss’ correspondence with our partner in the filly, Robert Lynch, says it all :

Good morning Robert.

It may be a little early for you, but the news is so good we thought we’d share it with you. Grail Maiden went to the races for the first time today, and amazingly, she made a winning debut. We knew she had a bit of talent, because the champion jockey who’d been working her, asked for the ride. However, the race was a sprint (6 furlongs) and the going was sticky, neither of which would have suited her. Her class came through, and she won in spite of it.

We need to remind ourselves that she’s a daughter of the best stallion in Europe at the moment, and that there are only two more daughters of Galileo (bred to Southern time) left in the world, and they go under the hammer in 2 weeks in our draft at the Ready To Run Sale.

We have put our hands on something special here, I think, and we can look forward to plenty of fun in the future.

Warm regards,

Mick
