Mrs Bridget OppenheimerMrs Bridget OppenheimerSouth African Horse Racing reports today that Golden Penny, owned by Mrs Bridget Oppenheimer, won the second race at Southwell in the UK today.

Golden Penny was sired by Xaar (Aus). The mare was the former South African raced Dog Rose by Fort Wood.

Racing on the poly surface Golden Penny was always travelling handy and as he turned into the home straight with three furlongs (600m ) to go the three year old gelding moved up to take the lead and he held on to win by a head in the end.

He was ridden by South African born apprentice jockey Travis Block and is trained by H Morrison.
