Kieren Fallon will be out of action for 18 months after learning that his last-ditch appeal against his ban has failed. Following a ruling by France Galop in January, the six-time champion jockey was handed the lengthy suspension as a result of testing positive for a prohibited substance at Deauville last August. That was the second such offence for the former Coolmore-retained rider and the panel of three official judges who heard his appeal in Paris last week upheld the initial verdict. No dates have been set for the commencement of the suspension, which Fallon is expected to spend riding out with Sir Michael Stoute’s team in Newmarket.
