Miss FinlandMiss Finland (smh)Star filly, Miss Finland (Aus) (Redoute’s Choice {Aus}), a five-time Group 1 winner, has been retired after going winless in her last nine outings. Trainer David Hayes said the success of Miss Finland at two and three enabled him to rocket back to prominence after 10 years of training in Hong Kong.

“She’s not racing like she was; the winner made her look second rate,” he offered. “ She’s the best two-and three-year-old I’ve ever trained by a long way. She’s given me the best ride. She re-established me, so I owe her everything.”

Managing part-owner John Messara whose Arrowfield Stud part-owns Summerhill resident stallion, WAY WEST, confirmed that Miss Finland would be covered by resident Arrowfield stallion Hussonet, the sire of five stakes performers in Australia this season, including four-time Group 1 winner Weekend Hussler (Aus) and Gr1 Blue Diamond Stakes winner Reaan (Aus). Miss Finland retires with a record of 26-11-5-1 and A$4,635,375 in earnings.
