With two sons of the great Danehill in Way West and Solskjaer resident at Summerhill, we are in the fortunate position of being blessed with a wealth of genetic greatness. This is certainly evident in the first crops of these stallions. Both Solskjaer and Way West have shown that there is much to be excited about with their first crops, and come sales time it will be even more exciting to see how it all pans out.
Many of the leading horses in the world today can in fact trace their pedigrees back to Danehill. Such illustrious names as Horse of the Year, Rock Of Gibraltor, Dual Classic winner, Desert King, sire of triple Melbourne Cup winner, Makybe Diva, superstar Dylan Thomas and not forgetting Redoute’s Choice, the Australian stallion superstar, who is now the costliest stallion in Australian bloodstock history, and standing at a higher stud fee than his own father did. In Europe, sons Danehill Dancer and Dansili are well established as proven sires. With such impressive stats like that it comes as no surprise that three out of twenty of the first season sires are from the master himself.
What more can one say. The figures speak for themselves.
