Champion 5 year old, Asiatic Boy (Arg) (Not For Sale) (Arg) successfully returned to action in last night’s G3 Al Shindagha Sprint S. at Nad Al Sheba. Off since finishing fifth to Authorized (Ire) in the G1 Juddmonte International S. at York Aug. 21, the striking bay was restrained towards the rear, but lacked room and was taken up with 600 meters to run. Stopped again at the quarter pole, he finally found a split between Salaam Dubai (Aus) (Secret Savings) and Diabolical (Artax) inside the final furlong and raced clear. “He’s shown what a class colt he is,” said trainer Mike de Kock. “He had everything go against him, but he was good enough to cope with it all.”
Asiatic Boy is owned by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa who was clearly delighted by his win.
