Tuesday saw the announcement of the retirement of one of the undisputed Manchester United greats, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who has finally decided to hang up his boots after earning the respect and love of everyone at Old Trafford, where under the code name of the “Baby faced Assassin” he scored 92 goals in an illustrious career as striker.
The 34-year-old number “2 Ole’gend” announced his retirement on Tuesday after a lengthy battle with injury due to recurring knee problems and joins the likes of other legendary United figures Law, Best and Charlton on the Honours board at Old Trafford.
In a career not entirely dissimilar to Aiden O’Brien’s highest rated 2 year old Solskjaer, the closure of one era opens up further opportunities in the sporting arena. Summerhill’s Solskjaer is currently displaying the opportunities to be had, having produced some of the best foals the farm has seen, whilst Ole Gunnar is set to further define his skills at Old Trafford, having announced he is to join Manchester United’s Coaching staff, at what we are told is an undisclosed fee!
We wish you well, Ole Gunnar.
