mullins bayMullins BayIt’s been pouring cats n’ dogs in the UK this past week, as Wimbledon watchers will tell you, but the news from Mike de Kock on Mullins Bay is that he’s in good form on the Newmarket gallops, and on target for his end of July return to the races as part of his passage to the Irish Champion Stakes (Gr.1).

Stable companion Asiatic Boy is in terrific form, and the English (and whoever else dares) will have to pick up their feet come the last week in July, when this chap takes to the field in the Sussex Stakes (1 mile Gr.1) at Glorious Goodwood. Mike de Kock and his team will be at Summerhill on Friday (during the visit of King Letsie III of Lesotho), to see his Argentinean (and a few other) purchases. It’s his way of “letting down” before his big day on Saturday, and it will be amusing to see how the two “kings” measure up.
