A time-honoured favourite at Royal Ascot is the 5 furlong Queen Mary Stakes (Gr.2) for 2 year old Fillies, won in a desperate dash by Ellentelle (by Fort Wood’s ¾ brother, Elnadin). Ironically, we were asked by Sheikh Hamdan’s Angus Gold to consider standing her sire, a Group One winning sprinter (by Danzig), only last year. As life would have it, he’s had one Group winner after another ever since we politely declined!  Good luck to them! That’s racing.
