It’s that time of year again at Summerhill, the first frosts have been and gone and we are starting to prepare our Ready To Run draft of 2007. This is the biggest draft ever – 110 horses in total. In addition to the excitement of seeing some of last year’s graduates visiting the winners’ circle, the anticipation of the announcement of fields for the R400 000 Emperor’s Palace Sweepstakes is building.

We have an exciting mix this year as our draft is represented by the progeny of:

DANEHILL DANCER, DUBAI DESTINATION, FANTASTIC LIGHT, HUSSONET, SHOW A HEART, STREETCRY (who has just produced the Kentucky Derby winner, STREET SENSE), and local stallions - ALBARAHIN, DEEP SLEEP, INDIGO MAGIC, JALLAD, KAHAL, LABEEB, LAVERY, LONDON NEWS, MALHUB, MUHTAFAL, NATIONAL EMBLEM, RAMBO DANCER, REQUIEM, RUSSIAN REVIVAL and SLEW THE RED.

Last year we started our Ready To Run Diary, and will continue to update you on the draft’s progress this year.
