KahalKahal (Nearctic Stakes Winner)(Horsephotos)The feats of the past 18 months of his sons Street Cry, Medicean and Kahal continue to remind us of the considerable loss international breeding suffered in the premature death of Darley’s flagship stallion, Machiavellian. On Sunday at Newmarket, England, Majestic Roi, became her sire Street Cry’s third first crop Group One winner, when she marched off with the honours in the Sun Chariot Stakes at the expense, (if you can believe it), of Medicean’s Group One winning daughter Nannina, making it a one-two for granddaughters of Machiavellian, in what was arguably one of the best Group One miles on the 2007 European racing calendar.

We count ourselves lucky in having three sons of Machiavellian on our roster, in the form of Kahal, Hobb Alwahtan, and of course next seasons “great expectation”, Mullins Bay. But what is of at least equal interest, in the short term at any rate, is the fact we have in our draft for the Ready to Run Sale early next month, a daughter of Street Cry, undoubtedly the hottest young sire in North America right now.
