It’s probably quite a good thing that mares don’t watch television. Apart from the fact that it would get a bit crowded as everyone in the paddock jostled for the best vantage spot to see the screen, there might also be some unhealthy rivalry as mare’s progeny went head to head in a series of graded stakes races.

We’ll therefore leave the mares to grazing and raising this year’s foals and let the humans do the watching. There will be an extra pat and murmer of congratulations from the broodmare team should the TV results add some black type to anyone’s page anyway.

13 ODYSSEUS (NATIONAL EMBLEM – GREET THE GREEK). Owned by the same owners as Champion filly IRRIDESCENCE - Team Valor. 2nd run back from a spell.
