A quiet week for the Ready to Run team with “rest” being the order of the day, trotting and just one canter on Wednesday the summary of work for the 7 days. I imagine the 2 new Hartford Hotel riding horses who are stabled beside the colts must have felt quite peeved with the state of affairs as they were still being schooled every day whilst their blue-blooded neighbours were introduced to a new lush rye paddock , and got to spend their days grazing and basking under balmy Spring skies!

On Saturday the celebrations were loud for R2R graduate and Gr 3 winner MAJESTIC SUN in the Matchem Stakes (Basil Marcus). Yesterday all eyes were on Tellytrack again as our 2005 sales topper - ROSE WINDOW (Kahal) - made it 2 in a row for Dylan Cunha. Rose Window has a brother by National Emblem in this year’s draft. One to keep an eye on.

It was yet another week for R2R success actually. In addition to Majestic Sun and Rose Window, RARE OPPORTUNITY (Alan Greef), IMIBIZO (Gavin Smith), and UMZINTO (Mauritius) all saluted the judges. Not bad for 2 days work. To cap it off we are offering a Muhtafal brother to RARE OPPORTUNITY and Sunday’s Listed winner RIVER PLATE in this year’s catalogue.

Meanwhile down at the fillies barn the girls decided to test the waters and break through the tapes that were keeping them off the stream at the bottom of the paddock. Their excuse? Well, it was hot, and it seemed a good idea at the time. I’m not entirely convinced the staff agreed with their decision given everyone spent the entire afternoon cleaning 3 inches of mud off 20 horses!
